5 E's (9/28/20)
Explore with Dr. Edelstein - The presentation by Dr. Edelstein was extremely interesting and informative. It really shed light on the negative impacts that climate change will have on us in the future and why it is so important to save the environment. I am excited to teach this subject to my students so that we can make the world a better place.
5E Lesson
Engage- Ask the students if they have familiarity with the subject that's being presented. Allow students to make connections to things they may have done in real life.
Explore- Gather any available classroom materials and create their own version of the product life cycle.
Explain- Using evidence, students will explain how removing limited resources not only decreases the amount of resources but changes the distribution of the resource on Earth.
Evaluate- Ask follow up questions, such as "what questions came up as you did this activity?"
Elaborate- Reflect on the product life cycle activity and work on extension activities.
BDMS After school program - I like the question about what scientific innovations are there to help slow down climate change.
